Ernst Fritz Fürbringer interpreta il presidente della White Star Line, che incautamente ha spinto il capitano del Titanic (Otto Wernicke) a fare la traversata più rapida possibile verso New York. È interessante notare che il regista Herbert Selpin è stato arrestato dalla Gestapo durante la produzione di questo film e la censura tedesca ha vietato il film per le sue scene di panico e terrore.
